LeBron James, the LA Lakers, and lat pulldowns — these are three of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s favorite things.
The bodybuilding icon and Men’s Health Legend posted a motivational message to the Los Angeles hoops squad on Thursday, which he prefaced with five reps of behind-the-neck lat pulldowns — not a move we recommend, but who are we to tell Arnold what to do?
“LeBron, you’re a champion, you’re the best, and you’re the only one that can really make the Lakers great again,” the Governator said.
“So go for it, do it, I’m counting on you. Because there is no magic pill. I’m going to watch you and the rest of the team every single time. Hasta la vista, baby.”
If that doesn’t inspire the purple and gold, nothing will.
This isn’t the first time Schwarzenegger has expressed his support for the newest Laker. He rolled out the official welcome mat in July after James signed his new contract.
“This is so exciting that you’re coming to the city of stars, and you’re without a doubt going to be the biggest star of all, on the court and off the court,” Schwarzenegger said, adding, “I love it.”
The LeBron Era, meanwhile, officially began Thursday with the Lakers’ first game of the regular season. They lost on the road to the Portland Trail Blazers, 128-119, but the highlight of the night was James’ monster dunk in the first quarter.
LA’s home opener is Saturday against the Houston Rockets. Keep an eye out for Schwarzenegger in the stands.
